Signed into law on December 27, 2020, the Trademark Modernization Act of 2020 (TMA) will be implemented beginning on December 27 of this year with key changes being a significantly shortened response time for Office Actions (2 months), new post-registration challenge procedures (expungement and reexamination), and a new third-party “letter of Protest” protocol.
